I really like RPG games with a story line, character creation and progression and especially with the possibility of modding. I often spend more time poking and prodding the game than actually playing the game. This brings often new bugs and challenges. Fortunately Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a Unity game written in C# that can be (with some caveats) debugged using dnSpy.
There are some self-inflicted problems that I had to solve, but also some that many other people encountered but was not able to find any solution. I am hoping that Google will index this page and help other people.
I went through the character creation, picked an animal companion (pet), but it is missing.
